Read, Important Information Guide to Our Delivery Services
Please read carefully the following, as any order placed with StandByChef implies acceptance of these terms and conditions.
Placing and confirming an order
There is a minimum order of 3 platters or a value of £150 exc VAT and shipping charges for deliveries. For orders below £150 exc VAT, please get in touch as we can accept collections depending on the date.
- Select the category and menu items you wish to order by clicking on the relevant link.
- Proceed to checkout with your log in details or click on Fast Check Out for non-registered customer.
- Select your delivery area and confirm your full postcode.
- Choose your delivery date and state the delivery time slot that most suit you.
- Tell us if there are any special instructions for your delivery, E.g. Loading Bay at the back, security access, etc.
- Click on Submit.
All orders placed online will automatically receive an order confirmation from our online ordering system. If you have no access to our online system, please place your order by email followed by a phone call to ensure we have received it. Orders are not official until you receive email confirmation from us.
Last minute orders
Online orders must be placed before 2.00pm on the business day two days before delivery to guarantee your chosen order. If you require an order pass this time, please call our office and we will advise you on order availability and delivery time.
Changing an existing order
Please get in touch via email or by calling us no later than 3 working days before your delivery.
Delivery Charge
We have a flat delivery charge of £35.00 for Zone 1-2 and £45.00 for Zone 3-4 from 11.00 AM to 5.00 PM. Delivery outside those areas will be quoted individually.
Please note that our delivery slots are available as designated by StandByChef on a first come first serve basis. The earlier you place your order the more likely you are to get your preferred delivery time slot.
NB Delivery Charge assumes that adequate parking is available for delivery and collection. Any Parking Tickets or additional costs incurred due to delays / poor access will be invoiced after the event.
Delivery Time
All orders can be delivered between 11.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Saturday. For delivery times outside of these hours will incur an additional charge, please call our office to confirm.
When you place an order online, you nominate a 3-hour window and within ‘Special Instructions’ you can ask for a particular delivery time. We will try and accommodate you as best as we can.
Collections
As we supply our food on disposable platter and boxes, we won't require collection of those items once the food is consumed.
Refunds Policy
Cancelling and Refunding an Order in the event, the following percentage of the sales value will be refunded:
- Cancellation within 10 working days’ notice before the business day of delivery day – 100% of the balance refunded.
- Cancellation within 5 working day notice before the business day of delivery day – 25% of the balance refunded.
- Cancellation within less than 2 working day notice before the business day of delivery day – 0% of the balance refunded.
All cancellations are to be completed by email and on the phone by 2.30pm on the business day before delivery. Cancellations after 2.30pm the business day before day of delivery (i.e. Monday – Friday) will not be refunded.
Any request for a refund after the balance has been paid will incur costs for products and labour in processing your order up to the value of 75% of your payment. Please be reminded your balance payment is requested 7 days prior to your delivery. The balance refund policy becomes applicable at the date of receipt of your Buffet Balance Payment Confirmation correspondence.
Registering with us
You can Register with us for your convenience where you will be provided with your own account and log in details making the filling of the form easier, as well as taking part in our reward point scheme.
Fast Check Out
If you do not wish to register with us, you can still place an order with our Fast Checkout facility but please note you will still be asked for all your details necessary to enable us to fulfil your order.
Business Accounts
Ordering regularly? Why not open an account with us? It is easy and will save you time later. If you would like to apply for a credit facility, please fill in this Form.
Please contact us to obtain a credit application form to set up a credit account. (BACS transfer funds require three days to process. In order for you to receive your goods earlier please fax or email confirmation from your bank that the transaction completed successfully)
Remittance Terms
Unless otherwise agreed by prior arrangement, all payments are due for settlement before the day of delivery
All online orders will be despatched upon receipt of cleared funds. This can be done by using our shopping cart facility using any major Credit/Debit Cards and PayPal. Alternatively, payments can be done by BACS or cheque as long as we receive payment before delivery.
If you have opened a credit account, we shall invoice you accordingly. Please contact us to request a credit account application.
Business Accounts Payments by proforma invoice until credit accepted. Please contact us to obtain a credit application form to set up a credit account. Liability
StandByChef confirms that they have and will maintain sufficient public liability insurance for events of the nature of the booking. A copy of the certificate (or scanned PDF image) is available on request.
StandByChef follows strict HACCP guidelines for all food production, handling, storage and distribution and dealings with our clients and their guests. Our policy based on these guidelines, restricts the service of foodstuffs, to a maximum of four hours after being removed from refrigeration. The company advise that all food must be consumed after two hours of initial serving, therefore any food consumed after two or more hours of it first being served is at the client’s discretion and therefore becomes the client’s responsibility. In the event we are found liable, our liability shall be limited to the Price, which has been invoiced in respect of that particular event.
Allergies and dietary requirements
We will endeavour to provide alternative menus for any dietary requirements notified within 3 days of any event. Any costs involved for the outsourcing catering in specialist companies (e.g. kosher, wheat free) will be chargeable. If we are notified of any allergies we will insure that these ingredients are not used in the food provided, however we cannot guarantee any dishes free from trace elements due to the nature of the kitchens. Please be aware that our products may contain nuts or nut traces
Food Safety
We follow strict health and safety guidelines. Chilled food can only be left out of refrigeration for a maximum of 4 hours. After this time the food will be deemed unsafe and consequently disposed of. Hot Food on a buffet can only be kept out (below 75 degrees) for a maximum of 2 hours and then will be deemed unsafe and disposed of. The company cannot therefore allow food to be left at a venue to the client’s disposal. The correspondence between The Company and The Client shall be taken as confirmation of The Clients agreement with and acceptance of the foregoing terms and conditions. An exchange of letters/emails constitutes a contract. We except no responsibility or liability whatsoever for any direct, special or consequential loss or other damages howsoever cause or any liability arising from the provision of our Services except in the case of personal injury or death caused solely by our negligence.
